| ‘Fresh
for Kids’™ Program |
 |
The
Sydney Markets limited, ‘Fresh
for Kids’™ Program is
a multi-faceted, non-profit program
developed in the early stages of 1997
to combat the alarmingly low levels
of fresh fruit and vegetable consumption
among the children of New South Wales.
Through
close relationships with various government
departments, teachers, canteen supervisors,
independent retailers and parents,
The ‘Fresh for Kids’™
Program is able to implement a strong
children's program that achieves the
aim of increasing consumption of fresh
fruit and vegetables and an active
lifestyle among school aged children.
The ‘Fresh for Kids’™
Program has proven to be a very successful
program for the Sydney Markets, with
Brisbane Markets enjoying similar
successful results. For the past four
years Brisbane Markets has licensed
the ‘Fresh for Kids’™
Program from Sydney Markets Limited. |

| Planet
Cook |
 |
Planet Cook, ABC Television’s
new kids’ culinary adventure
program from FremantleMedia, helps
promote a better understanding of
food and how to prepare it among
kids aged 5–11.
Hosted by well-known
international celebrity chef, Kevin
Woodford, and featuring Ruby Wax
as the voice of fact-filled, super
computer Roxy, Planet Cook is a
unique, live-action cookery adventure
show for children where mealtime
disappointments are a thing of the
past.
Set on a tropical
island, each episode sees Captain
Cook guide three young Cook Cadets
as they create a meal against the
clock. Each recipe is inspired by
the natural world—from leaf-eating
dinosaurs to volcanoes—which
gives Captain Cook the inspiration
to create delicious dishes like
‘Erupting Volcano Surprise’.
All recipes
have been analysed by independent,
qualified nutritionists to fit within
the context of a balanced, healthy
diet.
